One of the greatest rewards of teaching isn't the trophies on the shelf—it's watching students grow into confident young adults who go on to pursue ambitious goals around the world.
This month, we're saying goodbye (for now!) to one of Creator Academy's earliest students, Hero, as he begins an exciting new chapter in the United States.
Hero joined Creator Academy during our early years and was among the first students to become part of our VEX Robotics competition teams. Over the years, he developed not only his technical skills in programming, engineering and robotics, but also the resilience, teamwork and problem-solving mindset that competitive robotics demands.
In 2023, Hero and his teammates achieved one of Australian school robotics' highest honours, winning the VEX Robotics National Championship. It was a milestone that reflected countless hours of designing, building, testing, failing, improving and never giving up.
Now, Hero is taking that same passion to the University of California, Berkeley, where he is majoring in Physics with the intention of transferring into the College of Engineering to study Mechanical Engineering.
Looking beyond the classroom, Hero plans to immerse himself in San Francisco's world-renowned startup ecosystem and work at the forefront of robotics innovation. He is also already involved in the entrepreneurial world as a Venture Partner at a venture fund he co-founded with friends, focusing on investments in hardware startups as emerging technologies drive the next generation of innovation.
Seeing students take the skills they've developed through robotics and apply them to university, entrepreneurship and cutting-edge technology is exactly why Creator Academy exists. Robotics is about much more than building robots—it's about learning how to solve difficult problems, collaborate with others and develop the confidence to tackle challenges that don't yet have answers.
Hero has been an outstanding representative of our community, and we couldn't be prouder of everything he has achieved.
